Meet the Artist
Owner, Artist, and Instructor at Sweet Pea
Born in Alaska and raised on Kodiak Island, I grew up mostly outdoors and had a fascination with collecting rocks. In my teen years, I got into lapidary work with my Grandma, and eventually we took a silversmithing class together to learn how to set the stones we cut.
Soon after I first tried my hand with a jewelers torch around 2010, I began making custom pieces for friends and family. It didn’t take long before Sweet Pea Custom Silver was established as a hobby “side-hustle” in 2013.
Silversmith Meagan Anderson
Since the end of 2020, Sweet Pea has been my full-time job. I create custom pieces on request, and also keep an inventory of goods that I sell online, at trade shows and markets, through boutiques and Art Centers, and at my Sweet Pea Boutique in Raynesford, Montana by appointment.
I find fulfillment in sharing my expertise and experience with silversmithing, so I offer Private and Public Silversmithing Classes to people all over Montana.
Whether at the Sweet Pea Workshop in Raynesford, or at your own Workspace, I feel honored to make this craft available to others so that they can have an opportunity to experience the joy and self-discovery that the Art of Silversmithing has made available to me.

Sweet Pea
the meaning of the name
In floriography, or the language of flowers, the sweet pea carries the meaning of blissful pleasure, and is also often associated with appreciation and gratitude. It’s an incredibly resilient flower, and also has a few medicinal uses, but the sweet pea is most commonly recognized as a sign of friendship and connection.
Silversmithing and lapidary work are crafts that bring joy to me personally, so that’s the name I chose when I started my business in Alaska in 2013.
When I launched my LLC in Montana in 2021, it was clear that I needed to keep the name Sweet Pea because the primary purpose of offering silversmithing class was connection amongst friends and community through learning to make jewelry together.
